Sungboo ecological gloves are our brand's response to the needs resulting from care for the natural environment around us.
Plastic waste pollution is a serious global problem, with a particularly serious impact on the marine environment. It is estimated that approximately 300 million tons of plastic waste are produced worldwide each year, of which less than 9% is recycled. Governments, businesses and individual consumers are looking for ways to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions and save energy and materials.
One of the possible methods we use is the use of polyester yarns made from PET plastic bottles in the production process of gloves. We call such recycled yarn RPET, from "recycled PET".
In individual models of gloves from the ECOLOGICAL group, we used different amounts of RPET - from a few to even 100% recycled polyester.
The use of this technology in Sungboo products is confirmed by a certificate issued by the SGS certification body, according to which our ecological products meet the requirements of the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) or Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
The purpose of applying the above-mentioned standards is to increase the use of recycled materials. In the case of RCS, it is a minimum share of 5%, while in the case of the GRS standard, the share of recycled materials exceeds 20% and in some products even reaches 100%.
