Contact heat resistant gloves
(36)Sungboo contact heat resistant gloves are modern personal protective equipment (PPE) designed to protect users from the risk of burns.
Products from this product group are recommended for all workplaces where there is high temperature, e.g. transferred elements in glass, automotive, metal and many other industries.
Gloves from this section comply with the EN 407:2020 standard (in terms of resistance to contact heat). This is the main standard for all protective gloves designed to protect against contact heat and fire. In addition to gloves used in industry, this standard also applies to arm protection products, as well as to household gloves (kitchen, barbecue, etc.). A tear resistance requirement of min. has also been introduced for this type of products. 1, in accordance with EN 388:2016.
Resistance to contact heat depends on the temperature at which heat transfer occurs, causing the temperature inside the protective glove to increase. The test involves exposing a glove sample to heat sources with temperatures ranging from 100°C to 500°C.
To meet the requirements of the standard, gloves should maintain a stable internal temperature for the first 15 seconds of exposure to the heat source. All gloves in this section meet level 1, i.e. at a temperature of 100°C, which allows them to be used in most workplaces where there is an increased temperature associated with production processes.
